On Tuesday, April 8, 24 community members of all ages met to discuss how to make the Black Hills State University more intergenerational. Participants ranged from age 18 - 80+, and, by the end of the session, people were asking for more time to keep their discussions going.

Dr. Edward Zlotkowski, an expert in the field of service-learning in higher education, took South Dakota by storm the week of May 12 - 16. Starting in Vermillion, he spent an entire week traveling across the state, making stops at all major state schools, as well as smaller universities.

March 15 – 22 was Spring Break Week at Black Hills State University. For 15 BHSU students and two advisors, this week involved both intense physical labor and personal growth. These students were participants in the 2008 BHSU Alternative Spring Break trip to Seattle, WA.
