Black Hills State offers an impressive variety of art exhibits displayed in four galleries throughout campus. The galleries include art from BHSU students, professors, and community members.
Black Hills State University offers performances by instrumental and vocal ensembles. Junior and Senior recitals, given by individual music students each semester, are also open to the public. Faculty members perform concerts each year and the music department often sponsors concerts or workshops by well-known performers, both on and off campus. Community members are invited to attend all musical performances and can even participate in some ensembles.

Community Orchestra, Band, and Choir
The Dakota Chamber Orchestra, Black Hills State University Concert Band, and Community Choir are open to community members interested in expanding their musical and performance skills. Try-outs are not required to be a part of these ensembles.
During the spring semester, Lakota Ominiciye, a student organization supported by the Center for American Indian Studies, hosts the annual "Lakota Ominiciye Wacipi" during American Indian Awareness Week. This event is dedicated to educating the community about Indian culture featuring daily speakers and a variety of events at Black Hills State University.
Theatre productions are performed year round for your enjoyment. Come spend an afternoon or evening enjoying a performance by the Black Hills State Theatre Program.

Black Hills Teacher Fair
Apply and interview for K-12 teaching positions across South Dakota and beyond! Doors are open to job candidates, students and community members, from 8:30-12:30. Be prepared to be invited back for an interview in the afternoon. Contact the Career Center for more information.
Each year, the University Bookstore in collaboration with the BHSU Art program, hosts an Art Fair. View demonstrations by local artists and buy discount art supplies. Every year the Reading Council hosts a Scholastic Book Fair on campus. Whether you are a student pursuing a teaching degree or a parent who wants to stock up on books for your children, come check out the book fair at BHSU!
