I graduated with a degree in American Indian Studies and Sociology and am now working as the Youth Program Coordinator for Hunkpati Investments in Fort Thompson, SD. I will be teaching young people financial literacy skills and running a youth IDA program. I am very thankful for my education and experiece at BHSU. I wouldn't have gotten this job if it werent for my valuable experience with Lakota Omniciye/Center for American Indian Studies and the caring investment from the professors and staff from the school!

I just graduated with a double major in elementary and special education on December 17 I had planned to substitute teach until next August since it is hard to get a job mid year but today I was offered a teaching job in the field of Special Education and I start working as an inclusion teacher for the Meade County School District on Wednesday January 4th.

Hello~Feels so great to be finally graduated, however a huge part of me misses the ol' college life, beautiful sights, smells and sounds of South Dakota, and the classroom atmosphere! Right after graduation I moved to Lincoln, NE where I accepted a job as a Site Supervisor for a before/after school program with Family Service! Its a great starter job, and I can't wait to see whats to come! This job is great not only for Human Service majors such as myself, but also for all you education majors looking for experience and maybe a job until a teaching position comes available!! ~Congrats to everyone else living their dreams and making new ones~

Come fly with me! I got hired on as a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines and am based out of Denver, CO. I majored with an Associates in Tourism and Hospitality Management from BHSU which fits perfectly with my career. As of right now I am the youngest Frontier flight attendant at 21 years old. I am so very proud to now be a BHSU alumni, thanks so much! The sky's the limit- Clara

What a great spring 2011 commencement cermony! Thank you to all BHSU faculty and staff for making my college experience such an enriching and TRANSFORMING time in my life. I was most transformed, as President Shallenkamp so eleganty described, by becoming a "life long learner". Thank you BHSU for helping to instill in me such a rewarding virtue. Through the course of my study in the social sciences, public education, and as a first-responder in Spearfish, I have decided to pursue a career in law enforcement. I know that the skills and experiences that I have gained from BHSU and the community of Spearfish will serve me greatly in future goals. Thank you again! Chris

I accepted a job teaching 9-12 Science in Marion, SD! I want to thank all of the faculty members who have helped me along during my time at BHSU. I enjoyed my time at BH and all of the wonderful people I have met over the past four years. Have a great summer everyone!
