| Minutes of university assessment
committee meeting Wednesday, March 1, 2000. Present:
Earley, Sharon Hemmingson, Calhoon, O'Neill, Ellis,
Golliher, and Meyers; Absent: Grey, Cook, Haislett,
Myers, Termes, J. Miller.
The committee voted to approve the plan for the
environmental physical science major with the following
amendments. Dr. Anderson should make that goals 2, 3, 4
are measurable and change the word "enthusiasm"
in goal 5 to "preparation."
The committee began to discuss the reports of the
majors.

It became quite clear that
some would pass and some would not. At that point the
committee decided to ask Dr. Cook and the deans to come
meet with them at 3 p.m. on March 15th in Jonas 103. The
intent is to discuss the following issues:
- What should be the standard for acceptance or
rejection of a report?
- If the report is accepted or rejected, then what?
- If a significant number of the reports fail, how
does this impact NCA accreditation?
- Can we get a separate report on each of the
majors in education?
