Weather information and school closing now available by
phone
With the advent of winter storms and the possibility of
changes in the school class schedule, Black Hills State
University students can now phone (605) 642-6059 for updated
information.
Inclement winter weather and hazardous driving conditions
sometimes result in classes being cancelled. BHSU students have
new phone numbers advising them of changes in the class schedule
due to harsh weather conditions. Students have two phone options:
dial (605) 642-6059 or (605) 642-6011 and press option #6 for
weather related information and the current class schedule.
One of three messages will be recorded related to the weather
conditions and class schedule: 1) Classes are in session
and offices are open for the day. Students and employees are
urged to use caution and discretion in traveling because of local
weather conditions. This message will be updated as weather
conditions change. Listen to local radio and televisions stations
for the latest announcements; 2) Because of current weather
conditions classes are cancelled on the Spearfish campus for
today _(date)_. University offices are open and employees are
urged to use caution and discretion in traveling. This message
will be updated as weather conditions change and students are
advised to listen to local radio & television stations for
the latest announcements; and 3) Because of current weather
conditions classes at the Spearfish campus will be dismissed
today _(date)__at _(time)_. This message will be updated as
weather conditions change. Listen to local radio and televisions
stations for the latest announcements.
Students, faculty and staff are advised to listen to their
local radio or television station for weather related
information. The media will be notified of weather related
changes in the BHSU class schedule as early as possible each day.
