Spearfish, S.D. - Black Hills State University received a donation of $1 million from Dana and LaDawn Dykhouse and their children, Dan and Alana. This is the University’s first cash gift of $1 million, meaning BHSU students will see an immediate benefit from the gift.

16th Annual Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Auction To Be Held November 3, 2006
Spearfish, S.D. - The 16th Annual Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Auction will be held Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at the Spearfish Park Pavilion. The Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Auction is coordinated by the Yellow Jacket Foundation in an effort to raise scholarship funds for Black Hills State student-athletes.

The BHSU Rodeo Team traveled to Iowa Central Community College September 30-October 1, 2006. The men's team finished in 4th place in the region with 445 points; the women's team finished in 7th place in the region with 20 points. Individual Results: Chuck Schmidt, 1st place in the Saddle Bronc Riding; Jake Smith, 3rd place in the Bareback Riding; LaRue Olson, 7th place in the Steer Wrestling; PJ Painter, 1st place in the Team Roping; Cheryl Cowan, 8th place in the Breakaway Roping
