Kristi Ryan has signed a letter of Intent to play collegiate basketball for the Black Hills State University Lady Yellow Jackets Basketball team.
Kristi had a great high school basketball career. Her senior season was cut a little short due to an injury but still had a great year. She averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds a game as a senior. She is a 6 year letter winner, 4 year 1st team all conference player, a member of the all area team, 3 year all state selection, voted the team’s MVP and holds Highmore’s all time scoring record with 1927 points. She is a versatile player that can play any perimeter position. She jumps and moves well. Kristi is a tremendous shooter and very good in the open court. She also works very hard on the defensive side of the ball.
“We are very excited about Kristi’s decision to attend Black Hills State University. She has the entire package; great character, work ethic, athleticism and can really play. Her biggest challenge will be the adjustment to the college game. We are confident that her best years are ahead of her and are very excited about her future, states Coach Nore.”
Kristi excelled in other sports outside of basketball. In volleyball she was a 4 year letter winner, 4 year all conference selection, 2 year all-state selection, voted team’s MVP, and is the all time leader in blocks and kills for Highmore High School. She also excelled in track and field. She was a 4 year letter winner, voted team’s MVP, voted team’s hardest worker, and holds the record in the triple jump at her school.
Kristi has excelled in many high school sports and activities outside of basketball. Kristi was voted homecoming queen, snow queen, a member of National Honor Society, and National Honor Roll.
“We are very excited to welcome Kristi Ryan to our Yellow Jacket family. We feel that we have something special going here at Black Hills State University. She will be a great fit and will have a bright future for us, says Coach Nore.”
