Jenna Bolstad to Play Basketball for the Lady Yellow Jackets!

Jenna Bolstad has signed a letter of intent to play collegiate basketball for Black Hills State University.  Jenna is a 5’10 transfer student athlete from Miles City CC.

As a Lady Pioneer Jenna averaged 11 points, 7 Rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals a game on a team that compiled an astounding team record of 31-2 in the 2007-2008 season.  In the 2 years she played at Miles CC her team had an over-all record of 57-7.  Miles City Community College was the Mon-Dak Conference Champions and the North Sub-Region Champions in both 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 seasons.

Jenna was selected Mon-Dak All Conference in 2007 and 2008, all Region IX team in 2007, Region IX all Tournament team, Mon-Dak Athletic Conference Academic Team in 2007 and Mon-Dak player of the week in 20O7.

Jenna was a high school standout basketball player at Culbertson High School in Culbertson, Montana.  She was Academic All-State in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.  She was first team All-Conference in 2004, 2005, and in 2006.  She was first Team Defense All-Conference in 2004, 2005, and in 2006.  Jenna was All-State in 2005, Senior Classic All-State selection in 2006 and Earl Weeks Memorial (Outstanding Athlete Award) in 2005 and 2006.

“Jenna is a tremendous athlete that really competes.  She has always been “labeled” a little undersized to play inside but she is such a fierce competitor.  You cannot teach heart and Jenna has a big one.  She plays like she’s 6’1.  She is versatile both offensively and defensively.  Offensively she can play in the post or on the wing.  She has a great first step and has the ability to drive to the basket or shoot the three. Defensively she can guard a post or a perimeter player.

Jenna comes from a great program with a lot of tradition.  Coach Gunnare’s style of play is very similar to our style and we feel like Jenna’s transition should be an easy one.   I have the utmost respect for Coach Gunnare and his program.  He does it the right way and gets his team to play extremely hard.   Jenna is a good one.  I am very excited about Jenna’s decision to be a Yellow Jacket.  She will bring a lot of experience to our team, exclaims Coach Nore”
