Women's Basketball Improves to 17-4 on Weekend!

The Lady Yellow Jackets were perfect last weekend taking both games against Dickinson State University and Minot State University. On Friday the Yellow Jackets were able keep a little distance in the first half taking in a four-point advantage at halftime 32-28. In the second half the Yellow Jackets started clicking offensively and creating turnovers defensively to but their four point halftime lead into double figures. The Lady Jackets would outscore the Blue Hawks in the second half by 11 points taking the game 73-58. They were led by senior Lacey Haughian who had 18 points and eight rebounds. Senior Snjezana Dojcinovic had 15 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Bayley Chevron had 13 points and sophomore Brittany Furhman added 11 points.
The next night the Yellow Jackets were hosting the 14-6 Minot State Beavers. Late in the first half the Yellow Jackets went on a big run to give them a 10 point halftime advantage 44-34. In the second half the Yellow Jackets kept their distance behind strong inside play from Lacey Haughian and Snjezana Dojcinovic. The Lady Jackets would eventually take the game 72-65, which would move them back on top of the DAC Conference. The Jackets were led by Snjezana Dojcinovic with 22 points. Lacey Haughian added 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The 17-4 Yellow Jackets will travel this weekend to Minot State University and Dickinson State University. They will return home the following weekend.
