Women's Basketball Drops Two on the Road!

The Lady Yellow Jackets made the worst trip of the year last weekend as they traveled to Madison, South Dakota and Mayville, North Dakota. On Friday against Dakota State the Yellow Jackets battled back and forth in the first half behind hot shooting from sophomore Brittanny Furhman. The Trojans made a late run to take the halftime lead of 26-30. In the second half Dakota State came out strong increasing their lead into double figures. The Lady Jackets came roaring back in the final three minutes getting within striking distance but the Trojans maintained their lead to take the game 64-72. Black Hills State was led by senior Lacey Haughian with 18 points and eleven rebounds. Brittany Furhman added 12 points making three behind the arc.
The next night against Mayville State the Lady Yellow Jackets got off to an early lead going into halftime 34-30. To start the second half the Comets went on a 22-4 run to gain the lead by double figures. The Yellow Jackets went on a late run but Mayville's lead was too much as they took the game 58-70. The Lady Jackets were led by freshman Katelynn Lamb with 18 points. Junior Alexis Krull and Brittanny Furhman each added 11 points.
The 15-4 Lady Yellow Jackets will be home this weekend against Dickinson State and Minot State. Please check the schedule for times.
