Women's Basketball Improves to 9-2 with Wins Over Chadron and Mines!

Last Saturday night the lady Yellow Jackets took the floor against Division II Chadron State College. Black Hills State started rolling late in the first half and never looked back taking the game 68-51 improving to 8-2 on the season. The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Snjezana Dojcinovic with 14 points. Seniors Lacey Haughian and Lindsey Buthe both added 10 points.
This past Wednesday was the opening night of league play as the lady Yellow Jackets made the 45 minute drive to Rapid City to face rival South Dakota School of Mines. It was a typical rivalry game with both teams making runs back and forth. The Hardrockers took the lead into halftime 28-31. In the second half the Yellow Jackets outscored Mines 44-37 to take the game 72-68. Black Hills State had four players in double figures led by seniors Lacey Haughian and Lindsey Buthe who each had 15 points. Sophomore Bayley Chevron had 14 points and sophomore Brittany Furhman added 11 points. The Yellow Jackets improved to 9-2 on the season.
This Friday the lady Yellow Jackets will return home to play Rocky Mountain College at 5:30pm in the Donald E. Young Center.
