Volleyball Wins Colorado College Tournament

The Black Hills State volleyball team won three matches in Colorado Springs, Colo. over the weekend and dropped only one contest. Kristin Engle was named MVP of the tournament while Abmer Elliot and Jennifer Weitzel were all-tournament selections.
The Yellow Jackets started the tournament on Friday at noon with a three-game win over Moravian College. The Yellow Jackets won 30-25, 30-24 and 30-25.
On Friday night Black Hills State faced tournament host Colorado College. The Yellow Jackets lost the first two games 30-26 and 30-26 before rallying to win game three 30-21. Black Hills State was edged out in game four 32-30, suffering the only loss of the weekend.
On Saturday morning the Yellow Jackets played Williiams College and won the match in three games by scores of 30-28, 30-21 and 30-18.
Saturday evening brought a rematch with Colorado College. This time the Yellow Jackets came out victorious. The Yellow Jackets swept Colorado College by scores of 31-29, 30-20 and 30-28.
Black Hills State is 14-6 overall and has a 5-3 record in the Dakota Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Rapid City, S.D. on Tuesday to face National American. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
