Jackets Anxious To Get Back On Track
| September 12, 2007
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this Saturday afternoon for their last preseason test against Valley City State University. After this week the Jackets will start conference play.
Valley City State returns a talented team from a year ago including standout Chauncey Calhoun. Calhoun plays many roles for the Vikings as he is the starting safety, punter, and may line up on the offensive side of the ball as well.
“Defensively Valley City State is one of the better defensive teams from a year ago in the Conference. There schemes are solid and they give you a lot of looks to keep you off guard. Their defensive backs are really solid as they return a veteran group” said Coach Scott.
Offensively the Vikings return many veterans including the offensive line and quarterback from last year. Valley City State’s offense really has the ability to be a high potent force in the conference. They will throw many different formations at the Yellow Jackets on Saturday.
“This is a very important game for us. This game is not only about playing Valley City State but conquering the inconsistency that took place the past two games” said Coach Scott. The Yellow Jackets will kick off against Valley City State University at 1:00pm in Lyle Hare Stadium. This weekend is also Parents Weekend for the Yellow Jacket athletes.
