Women's Golf Prepares To Get Underway
| September 06, 2006
Spearfish, S.D. - The second year women’s golf program will look to continue its improvement during the 2006-2007 season. Head Coach Sarah Johnson will once again guide the Yellow Jackets.
“We should be a very competitive team,” said Johnson. “Everyone on the roster has a great attitude and is willing to put the work in to be successful.”
Senior Black Hills State basketball and golf standout Jamie Bentley showed everyone in the region what made her one of the region’s best golfers last season. Bentley qualified for the NAIA Region III golf tournament at Indian Creek Golf Course in Elk Horn, Neb. in 2006. Bentley also earned the distinction of being named the best golfer in the Dakota Athletic Conference.
The only home tournament on this season’s schedule will not be played until next spring. Last season, the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather. This season, the Black Hills State Invitational will be held April, 22-23, 2007.
