Black Hills State Volleyball Scrimmage is a Success
| August 14, 2010
Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team held their annual pre-season scrimmage today at the Donald E. Young Center Gymnasium. The team featured the Yellow Jackets along with four other teams from around the region.
The Yellow Jackets held their own on the hardwood against both NAIA conference opponents and strong junior college teams dropping only four of the 12 games.
“It was great to see our gals come out and be competitive. We have a young group of players this year, and it was nice to see them step up and compete at a high level so early in the season,” said Assistant Coach Austin Albers. “Our returners have been great role models and leaders. Their focus and hard work is rubbing off on others and the team is starting to find continuity. Once we become more consistent, we will be a very fun team to watch.”
The Yellow Jackets will head out to Los Angeles, California to face Hope International in their season opener Thursday, August 19.
