Black Hills State Finishes Second In DAC Commissioner's Cup

Spearfish, S.D. – Despite being tied for most conference championships and totaling the most second place finishes, Black Hills State University finished second in the Dakota Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Cup for the 2009-10 school year.

The Yellow Jackets compiled 110 points, sharing second place with Jamestown and trailing first place finisher Dickinson State by five points.

Black Hills State won four conference championships (women’s cross-country, women’s basketball, women’s outdoor track & field and co-champions in men’s basketball) and had five second place finishes. The Yellow Jackets totaled nine first or second place finishes, the most in the DAC, while Dickinson State and Jamestown both finished with six.

The Commissioner’s Cup is awarded to the institution with the best overall record in conference competition. Points are given based on each school’s finish in conference sports that include a conference championship.
