BHSU Football Announces Second Signing Class for 2010

Black Hills State University Head Football Coach Jay Long announced today that the Yellow Jacket Football program will sign letter of intents for 37 student-athletes on Friday, February 18, 2010.  This is the second recruiting class for Long and his coaching staff.  The class is comprised of 33 high school players and 4 transfer students.

“This is our second recruiting release of the year and we feel that our recruiting class has finally come together. To sign 37 new student athletes to Black Hills State University shows the hard work that the coaching staff has put in to sign this many recruits this early,” stated Coach Long. “With this year’s recruiting class, we feel that we have addressed our immediate needs. We signed some very good freshmen and it will be exciting to watch them play next year,” added Long.

Overall, the Yellow Jackets will welcome back 63 veterans to the 2010 squad in addition to the 37 student-athletes signed on February 18.  The 2010 Recruiting class consists of 13 Defensive Backs, 7 Linebackers, 2 Defensive Lineman, 3 Wide Receivers, 2 Tight Ends, 6 Offensive Lineman, 5 Running Backs and 1 kicker. The veteran team is continuing to work hard in their off-season workouts and will start spring practices the first week of April.
