| November 17, 2009
Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State Men’s Basketball team (3-4) squared off against NCAA Division II opponent Chadron State College (1-0) to continue their tough non-conference schedule to begin the season. The Yellow Jackets fell to the Eagles 80-73 Tuesday night at the Donald E. Young Center.
Luke Enos led all scorers with 20 points and also netted 4 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets. Cain Atkinson added 15 points and 5 boards also for Black Hills State. Chadron State was led by Donte Archie who tallied 16 points and 1 rebound.
Black Hills State began a second half comeback, but was unable to overcome the stellar free throw shooting of Chadron State, who shot an impressive .950 from the charity stripe on the evening.
Next up for Coach Sather and the Yellow Jackets are two tough road games against opponents Bethany Lutheran and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs this weekend. The Jackets look to turn it around and pick up a few more decisive victories on away territory.
