Yellow Jackets Prepare for Jimmies!
| October 23, 2009
This Saturday the 4-3 Yellow Jackets will be in Lyle Hare Stadium to take on the 3-4 Jamestown College Jimmies. Both teams are coming into this contest 3-2 in DAC play. “Jamestown is entering this game on a three-game winning streak. The first few games their offense struggled but since then they have really started to click. Jamestown and us are very similar in a lot of ways and this should be a solid matchup,” said Head Coach Jay Long.
Offensive Keys to the Game:
Offensively the Yellow Jackets will look to establish a sound running game early which will help open up the passing attack. “Offensively we need to find a way to put the ball in the end zone. This week we have focused on what we have had success with,” added Coach Long. The Jimmies defensively are very aggressive and the Yellow Jackets will look to match their aggressiveness.
Defensive Keys to the Game:
The Yellow Jackets defensively will look to stop Jamestown’s quarterback junior Michael Beehler who is leading the DAC with 237 yards passing per game. Jimmie sophomore wide receiver Matt Wilson has 34 catches for over 500 yards and three touchdowns on the season will also be a focus for the Yellow Jacket defense.
This weekend’s festivities will kick off at 11AM with the tailgate in the Young Center parking lot followed by the kickoff at 1PM. The Yellow Jackets will also be home next weekend as they take on rival South Dakota School of Mines.
