Jhett Albers Named DAC Athletic Director of the Year!

Jhett Albers was recently named Dakota Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year. Albers accepted the athletic director position in January of 2006, he also teaches for the physical education department, and is the head volleyball coach for the Yellow Jackets. This past volleyball season Albers guided the Yellow Jackets’ volleyball team to a share of the DAC regular season title, the conference tournament crown and the school's first ever trip to the national tournament.

It is really a reflection of Black Hills State University and the Athletic Department, from our administration, coaches, support staff, donors and boosters. They are talented hard working people with a commitment to being the best. It has been an outstanding year for Yellow Jacket Athletics. I am proud and feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of it,” said Jhett Albers.
During the just completed academic year, the Yellow Jackets shared the conference championship in volleyball and won outright conference titles in men's and women's cross country, men's basketball, women's indoor and outdoor track and field and women's golf. The Yellow Jackets finished second to Dickinson State for the DAC Commissioner's Cup. Black Hills State also took part in national competition in men's and women's cross country, volleyball, men's and women’s basketball, women's golf and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.
Albers played football at Black Hills State while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in education and graduated with a master’s degree from Black Hills State in 1991.
