Jackets Aim to Halt Skid at Jamestown!

The Yellow Jackets are Coming off a two game losing streak that eliminated them from conference championship contention.  The Yellow Jackets look to rebound this weekend against a nationally ranked Jamestown College team.

This past Saturday Minot struck a dagger in the Yellow Jacket conference hopes with a determined running game and some key special teams play.  Offensively although the Yellow Jackets were able to put up good yardage they were only able to finish with two scores.  “Knotting the game at 13 in the third quarter we felt we could really continue to build on that momentum, but senior running back Nick Banks the conference leading rusher proved his worth at that point,” said Head Coach John Scott.  Banks ate up big chunks of yardage and clock for the rest of the third quarter.  “The ten point cushion and going into a stiff head wind allowed Minot to come after us in the fourth quarter,” added Coach Scott.  Minot won the game 23-13 this past Saturday.

Coming into this weekend, Jamestown’s offense is very explosive led by senior quarterback Josh Kittell who is second in the Dakota Athletic Conference in all purpose yards with 326 per game.  Kittell is a passing and running threat which makes him very dangerous to defend.  “Defensively we need to keep track of their receivers and contain Kittell with our defensive line,” said Coach Scott.

Offensively the Yellow Jackets will look to finish their drives this weekend by putting the ball in the end zone.  “We have to will ourselves back into the end zone,” said Coach Scott.  Defensively Jamestown will look to slow down the Yellow Jacket running game with a defense that is built around everybody doing their job.

Kickoff this Saturday is at 1:00 PM CST in Jamestown, North Dakota on the campus of Jamestown College.  If you are unable to attend the game please visit the Jamestown Athletic Website to purchase the game through pay per view.
