Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State football team will face Northwestern in the first round of the 2006 NAIA Football Championship Series.
The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 12 in the latest NAIA poll, will travel to No. 6 ranked Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa. The game will be played at De Valois Stadium on the Northwestern campus at 12 noon CST.
The Red Raiders of Northwestern College are members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), and finished with an overall record of 10-1 (9-1 GPAC). The Red Raiders’ only loss of the season was to conference foe and No. 2 ranked Sioux Falls.
The Yellow Jackets finished the season 8-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 in conference play. Black Hills State was the 2006 Dakota Athletic Conference regular season champion.
Ticket prices to the game in have been set as follows: $5 Student, $8 General Admission, $10 Reserved Seating, $12 Reserved, $12 Game Day
The Yellow Jacket Foundation will be sponsoring a travel package to attend the first round playoff in Orange City, Iowa. The cost is $125 per person or $200 per couple. The package includes transportation to the game, a night’s stay in a motel on Friday, Nov. 17, and ticket to the game. A minimum of 36 people must register for the trip.
