Aubrey Baxter (Redfield, SD) has qualified for this year’s Olympic Trials in the shot put with a throw of 54-00.50. Aubrey is a junior and the second current NAIA athlete to qualify and the first Black Hills State athlete to reach this milestone. Aubrey will be leaving for Eugene, OR on Saturday, June 28th and will compete on Thursday, July 3 at 9:20 pm. Junior Aubrey Baxter is on her way to the Olympic Trials. Ryan Gatch, linebackers coach and special teams coordinator this past season, announced to Athletic Director Jhett Albers and Head Coach John Scott that he had accepted a coaching position at Northern State University effective July 1st. Click here for more details.

After a wet spring and a day postponement the sun came through to help the Jackets conclude their 2008 spring. The scrimmage Sunday was followed by a barbecue at Salem Park where the football staff announced their winter weight training and conditioning awards.
