The Black Hills State University track and field teams had a successful outdoor national championship meet finishing with four individual national titles, three new school records, one national record and nine All-American honors.

Junior Aubrey Baxter from Redfield, South Dakota won the National Championship in the hammer with a throw of 198'9" and in the shot with a throw of 51'3/4". Her throw in the hammer  broke the old record of Vivian Chukwueneka from Azusa Pacific which was set in 2006. Click here to view current results from St. Louis.

Thirteen Black Hills State University track and field athletes will be competing in the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championship this weekend in St. Louis. Coming off a convincing conference championship (third consecutive) the women are sending seven athletes in seven different events. Click here for more information.

The Black Hills State University track and field teams had an outstanding conference meet in Jamestown on Sunday. The Yellow Jacket women won twelve events to capture their third consecutive conference outdoor championship scoring 279 points while the men won six events in finishing runner-up for the third consecutive year with 162 points. Head Coach Amy Gurney was recently named Dakota Athletic Conference Softball Coach of the Year. In only her second season at BHSU she guided the Lady Yellow Jackets to a third place finish in the conference and were one game away from the championship game in the DAC Tournament.
