Luke Enos recorded his second Player of the Week honor for his efforts this past weekend against Valley City State University and Jamestown College.  Enos scored a career high 30 points to go along with nine rebounds on Friday against Valley City State and he capped off the weekend by scoring 20 points Saturday against Jamestown College.  Luke was 19-27 from the field for the weekend.  Click above to view DAC Players of the Week.

The Yellow Jacket softball team is gearing up for a strong showing in the Dakota Athletic Conference for the 2009 spring season. After finishing third in the conference last May, Coach Gurney and the Jackets are ready to continue to move up the ranks in the conference.

The Yellow Jackets wrapped up their first half of conference play this past weekend against Valley City State University and Jamestown College.  After dropping a tough game Friday night to Valley City State the Yellow Jackets bounced back picking up a key win over #4 ranked Jamestown College.

Brittani Cassados has recently signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Black Hills State University beginning in the fall of 2009.  Brittani is currently a senior at Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming.

The Yellow Jackets traveled to Chadron, Nebraska Saturday for their last non-conference matchup before returning back to conference play.  The Yellow Jackets were fresh off their victory over rival South Dakota School of Mines on Thursday night.  Entering the game Saturday BHSU was 15-3 on the season.

Kylee Lamb a senior at Sully Buttes High School as signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Black Hills State University beginning in the fall of 2009.  “Kylee is one of the top athletes in the state of South Dakota and we are very excited to have her join our program,” said Head Coach Jhett Albers.

The 9th ranked Yellow Jackets entered the game Thursday looking to improve in conference to 4-1 and 15-4 overall. They knew going in that this would be an extremely tough game.  “It doesn’t matter what the records are whenever you get these two teams together it will always be a tough physical game,” said Head Coach Mark Nore.

The Yellow Jackets knew going into the game Thursday night that it was going to be a war. Both South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State University are off to great starts.  The Hardrockers were 13-5, and the Yellow Jackets were 14-3 entering the game.

The Yellow Jackets finished an awesome season going 26-8 and earning their first trip ever to the NAIA National Tournament.  “It was a tremendous honor and achievement for our program to get an opportunity to play in the National Tournament.  This experience proved we could play with the best teams in the nation.  We were able to close our season feeling confident and proud of our accomplishments,” said Head Coach Jhett Albers.

RAPID CITY — Mike Hultz knew Jason Henry and Paul Sather before they began roaming the Dakota Athletic Conference sidelines as head coaches at South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State, respectively. Hultz has watched the two turn their programs into contenders this season in the DAC as they battle for the conference crown and he is not surprised. Luke Enos was awarded DAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance last week in four games. He averaged 17 points and 7 rebounds helping the Yellow Jackets go 3-1 on the week.  They recorded wins over Shorter College (GA), Johnson & Wales (CO), and Montana State University – Northern.
