The Yellow Jackets concluded their season this past week with an 83-86 loss to the University of Saint Francis who eventually went on to win the 2010 NAIA National Championship.  This was the second straight year that the Yellow Jackets lost in the National Tournament to the eventual National Champion. The Yellow Jackets softball team returned this past weekend from a very impressive road trip in Tucson, Arizona to open up the 2010 season.  Coach Gurney and the Yellow Jackets went 7-4 in their 11 games in Tucson against some of the best teams in the NAIA.  “We are extremely excited about how we played in Tucson but we know that the season is only beginning,” said Head Coach Amy Gurney.

Tucson, Arizona – Saturday marked the final day of the Tucson Inviational and the Yellow Jackets finished the tournament on a strong note defeating Cornerstone 6-1, losing to Olivet Nazarene 10-2 but then bouncing back against Judson with a 10-3 victory in their last game of the tournament.
