February 6, 2010. Spearfish, S.D. – Tonight the Black Hills State University Men’s Basketball team took on the Valley City State Vikings at home. The Yellow Jackets were able to pull away in a narrow victory 75-71.

Spearfish, S.D. - The Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets dominate The Jamestown College Jimmies led by a strong attack down low by Junior Will John Johnson as the Jackets roll to a decisive 89 to 51 victory.

Black Hills State University will be hosting a fundraiser for Coaches vs. Cancer on Saturday, February 6 as the Yellow Jackets take on Valley City State in men’s and women’s basketball at the Young Center.  This year, proceeds raised from the event will benefit former Sturgis High School boy’s basketball coach and Black Hills State alum Ethan Dschaak.

Black Hills State University basketball reached a great milestone this past year as four players have all reached the 1000 point mark. 

Thursday, January 28- Rapid City, South Dakota. The Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets get the 10 point win over South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Dakota Athletic Conference play, 81-71.

January 25, 2010 – After getting temporarily stuck in North Dakota due to inclement weather and road closures, the Black Hills State Men’s Basketball team squared off against a tough opponent in Minot State University. The Yellow Jackets fell to the Beavers 75-81.

Friday, January 22, Dickinson, N.D. – The Black Hills State University Basketball team was able to come away with a 25 point win on the road while shooting 52% from the field.

The Junior Jacket Camp hosted by the men’s and women’s basketball programs at Black Hills State University has recently been moved from January 29th to February 15th on President’s Day. 

Saturday, January 16, 2010 – Tonight the Black Hills State University Men’s Basketball Team butted heads with a scrappy conference opponent in Dakota State University. Despite the minimal two point margin at the half, the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets were able to fight off the Trojans and pick up the win 68-66.

Friday, January 15, 2010 – The Black Hills State Yellow Jacket Men’s Basketball team posted a dominant performance over conference opponent Mayville State University. The Yellow Jackets took the home contest 85-60.
