The Black Hills are alive with the sound of music. Black Hills State University’s music department announces its spring concert series featuring guest percussionist Jeremy Johnston and an appearance to help the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra celebrate its 80th season.
Composers premiere masterpieces during BHSU music extravaganza

Black Hills State University presents a New Music Extravaganza concert Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall. The Extravaganza features new music composed by, and written for, Spearfish composers and musicians including the premiere of a piece inspired by the science at the Sanford Underground Research Facility.

Black Hills State University’s Friends of Music hosts “Music of Stage and Screen,” a concert featuring duet pianists, on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m. in Clare and Josef Meier Hall on BHSU’s campus. A reception will follow the recital.

An ad created by Black Hills State University student Bryce Boser, mass communication major from Box Elder, won a University marketing contest and his ad will air regionally Sunday during the Super Bowl.
Boser was one of 12 finalists in the “Where Anything is Possible” marketing contest at BHSU.

Students are being challenged to create marketing concepts using the University’s new tagline ‘Where Anything is Possible’ in a campus-wide contest. The winning entry has the possibility of being shown regionally during the Super Bowl or being placed on a billboard.
