BHSU President Kay Schallenkamp noted that the donation is an investment in BHSU students that provides a benefit not only for the students, but also for the entire community.

Wednesday, September 26, 2012 BHSU alum Jerome Greene presents to an audience of more than 50More than 50 people attended a presentation on the 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre by Jerome Greene, a 1968 BHSU graduate. Greene read excerpts from his manuscript including first-hand survivor accounts obtained from his research. The presentation, part of the Swarm Week festivities, was sponsored by the BHSU Alumni Office and the Case Library for Western Historical Studies. Greene is one of several alumni honored this homecoming.

BHSU to host American Indian College Scholarship Gala

Black Hills State University will host the sixth annual American Indian College Scholarship Gala Saturday, Oct. 13 in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room. The event kicks off with a reception at 6 p.m. and a dinner at 7 p.m.


BHSU crowns 2012 Swarm Week Royalty
Tuesday, September 18, 2012 Seth Courtney, a communication major from Belle Fourche, and Hannah Kloiber, a business administration major from Spearfish, were crowned the 2012 Swarm Week king and queen at Black Hills State University last night.

Former BHSU coach Cliff Papik and wife Jeanne will lead Swarm Day parade
Tuesday, September 18, 2012 The name Cliff Papik has long been synonymous with athletics at Black Hills State University. The former BHSU coach and athletic director’s tenure spanned 30 years. This year he and his wife Jeanne will take on a new title – that of Swarm Day Parade Grand Marshals.

BHSU will honor alumni during Swarm Week
Monday, September 17, 2012 Black Hills State University will honor several outstanding alumni during the annual Alumni Awards Luncheon as a part of Swarm Days 2012. William "Bill" Weyer will be honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award; the Excellence in Education Award will be presented to Keith Stover; Jerome A. Greene will be recognized with the Special Achievement Award; and Johanna Meier and Guido Della Vecchia will be honored with the Special Service Award.
