Twenty-seven Black Hills State University students were recently honored as John T. Vucurevich scholars including Melissa Barnard, theatre major from Rapid City, and Jillian Draine, biology and chemistry major from Spearfish, who are this year’s Presidential Scholars.
BHSU holds 29th Annual Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run/Walk

The Black Hills State University track and cross country program is organizing the 29th Annual Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run/Walk Sunday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Lyle Hare Stadium. The race is one of the final events of the week-long American Indian Awareness celebration. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with categories for all ages.

Spearfish High School student awarded full ride Nelson Scholarship
Spearfish High School senior Sam Hintgen, who plans to major in biology with a goal of going into the medical field, joins the elite ranks of Nelson Scholars at Black Hills State University. He was selected based on his outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements at Spearfish High School as well as his leadership abilities, integrity and responsibility.
