I'm originally from Spearfish, and I wanted to get my general education classes out of the way, but as I started getting all my classes taken care of I realized that I actually like BHSU. The school is small enough that I really got to know my teachers and the staff at BHSU. Also, the size of the student population allows me to know almost everyone on campus as well. I appreciated that even though it is known for its education programs, BHSU still offers a good Pre-Med Program and a good Biology department with professors that are very knowledgeable. What has surprised you the most about BHSU?
The coffee shop in the library surprised me. I really enjoy the fact that not only do they prepare several types of specialty coffees, but they also have a nice variety of $1 menu coffees that are really good! I was also surprised that the biology classes are way harder than any other class that I've ever taken. How is BHSU preparing you for the future?
I have learned many things here that will carry with me through out my life. If you're nice to people, they'll be nice to you back. A simple "Hi" or a smile can go a long way. I have learned how to entertain myself and have fun without spending money, through using my resources and nature, especially here in the Black Hills. I have also learned how to speak up and help myself because I have realized that when I am struggling and have questions, someone else is probably thinking the same things. Your Typical Day:
6am-alarm clock goes off
7am-deciding best way to kill alarm
8am-work at the union
9am-General Chemistry Class
10am-look for a friend to chat with
11am-Speech Class
11:55-find best excuse to skip General Biology Class
12pm-actually head to General Biology
1pm-spending hour imitating Monty Python
2pm-work at the Student Union
3pm-plotting to take over the world
4pm-gather friends to find something to do
5pm-contemplate what homework to do
6pm-dinner
7pm-homework
8pm-call everyone I know
9pm-plans to be a rock-star
10pm-more homework
11pm-bed!!! |
