"One Man, Two Guvnors" By Richard Bean
The play that has won numerous awards for it's Broadway and UK performances, One Man, Two Guvnors, (yep, that's spelled right) comes to BHSU with an outstanding cast! Set in 1960's Brighton England, an easily confused Francis Henshall becomes separately employed by two men -- Roscoe Crabbe, a local gangster, and Stanley Stubbers, an upper class criminal. Francis tries to keep the two from meeting all while mixed in the chaos of another couple, Alan Dangle and Pauline Clench. This hilarious British farce is everything you'd expect with swinging doors, disguised identities, romantic twists, and-- HEY YOU! IS THAT A SANDWICH? ...Oh yeah, and food! "The Pillowman" By Martin McDonagh
This will be the first ever performance in the newly constructed Wooburn Black Box Theatre! The Pillowman is directed by the talented senior theatre student Nick Nettle.
The play revolves around a writer of short stories, Katurian. Some of his work resembling recent child murders gets him arrested by two detectives, Ariel and Tupolski. Later he hears that his brother Michal confessed of the murders and has implicated Katurian. The play includes both narrations and reenactments of several of his short stories, most notably, the story telling how he developed his disturbed imagination hearing the sounds of Michal being tortured by their parents.
