Middle and high school students will create public service announcements with help from professionals in the media Tuesday, April 21 at Black Hills State University. The day-long “Media Blitz” event is sponsored by BHSU’s School of Education and mass communication program with support from the Chiesman Endowment for Democracy.

Chad Coppess picked up his first camera in high school. He knew then that all he wanted to do was take photos.
For the past 22 years, the Black Hills State University alum has been capturing iconic images across South Dakota as the senior photographer for the South Dakota Department of Tourism (SDDOT). Recently, one of those images landed on the cover of National Geographic Traveller Australia & New Zealand.
