Early Childhood SPED

 

The requirements for the Early Childhood SPED endorsement are as follows:

  1. An approved program in  early childhood special education
  2. 24 semester hours in child development or early childhood special education to include the courses listed below

*Course in General Psychology
*Course in Child Growth and Development
*Course in Teaching Students with Exceptionalities
            *typically taken in undergraduate degree program

ECE 511 – Guidance for Young Children
ECE 513 – Early Childhood Curriculum
ECE 517 – Methods of Early Childhood Education
SPED 510 – Behavior Management of Exceptional Children
SPED 513 – Serving Students with MR, DD and Sever Disabilities
SPED 531 – Identification and Assessment in Special Education
SPED 560 – Family Systems and Professional Collaboration
