BHSU students named to 2015 spring semester Dean's List Wednesday, June 10, 2015 The Office of Academic Affairs at Black Hills State University has released the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester. A total of 662 students maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher while taking at least 12 credit hours.

Jhett Albers, director of athletics, said BHSU scholar-athlete GPA statistics are impressive every year but even more impressive this year because BHSU has increased the number of scholar-athletes participating in the University’s athletic programs.

Hwayoung, an international student from South Korea, wants to teach English, and to become the best teacher she can be means traveling overseas to improve her English and build confidence in the classroom.

Seven faculty and two staff members are retiring from BHSU this year, after, a combined 165 years of service and dedication and to the University.

When Kristin Prescott decided to enroll at BHSU, more than 800 miles from her hometown of Colgate, Wis., she was looking for adventure away from home. Now just days away from graduating, Kristin has decided to stay in the Black Hills and help local families through a full-time job with Child Protection Services in Rapid City.
