President tours Underground Campus space at lab

Not even a week into the job and the new Black Hills State University president, Dr. Tom Jackson Jr., encountered a whole different world when he visited the Sanford Underground Research Facility (Sanford Lab) to visit with faculty and researchers about their work nearly a mile underground in the former Homestake Mine near Lead.

BHSU announces dean’s list for spring semester
Tuesday, June 10, 2014 The Office of Academic Affairs at Black Hills State University has released the dean’s list for the spring of 2014 semester.  A total of 734 students maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or above while taking at least 12 credit hours to be named to the list this semester.

BHSU’s Summer Exploration Institute encourages creativity and critical thinking skills

For the fourth year in a row, Black Hills State University is offering an opportunity for local elementary through high school students to explore the world around them. The annual Summer Exploration Institute will be held June 16-20 for ages 11-16 and July 7-11 for ages 7-10.

BHSU graduate discovers passion for research

Black Hills State University psychology major Kaitlin Schneider, who started her collegiate career while still a senior at Sturgis Brown High School, has spent the last several years involved in a variety of research projects, one which awarded her the top undergraduate oral presentation at this year’s Black Hills Research Symposium (BHRS).While her time as a BHSU undergraduate will come to an end tomorrow, Schneider’s career in academia is just beginning.
