The Learning Assistant Program is an initiative at Black Hills State University. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for math and science majors to explore teaching as a career field and to increase the production of exemplary math and science teachers.
If you are interested in the program, complete the application below by December 1, 2013 and submit it electronically. Selection of the assistants for Spring 2014 will be made by January 1. Assistants will be paid a stipend of $1,500 to provide in-class teaching support; plan lessons and activities with a professor; participate in a 1 hour per week study group; and participate in a monthly seminar with other learning assistants. It is anticipated that the project will require 100 hours of commitment over the course of the 16 week semester.
Please list the names of two faculty members who are knowledgeable about your work and could be called as a reference.
