The Teacher Learning Center works to improve education and to better prepare pre-service teachers. It also provides a professional development center where educators can study and reflect on researched-based curriculum, instructional methods and assessment.

The Teacher Learning Center is housed at West Elementary School in Spearfish, SD, a preschool through 2nd grade building in Spearfish School District.  The school is located across the street from Black Hills State University and is ideally located to support the University’s teacher preparation program.
