Early Childhood Special Education Program

Are you interested in early childhood development?

Are you looking for a field with high employment rates and even higher personal satisfaction?  The Early Childhood Special Education program at Black Hills State University gives you the opportunity to acquire the training and certification you need to work with children ages birth to eight.

BHSU early childhood education faculty members are strong advocates for children of typical and atypical educational needs.  They are also approachable, knowledgeable, and most importantly, have extensive experience in a variety of backgrounds working with children younger than eight.  Several student organizations support the learning goals of this program, including honor societies and special education advocates.

Through the combination of the early childhood and special education courses, the College of Education at BHSU provides you the options that will turn your degree into a career – without additional time.  The program is designed for early childhood special education majors to graduate in the traditional four years.
