Early Childhood Special Education Careers

Following graduation from BHSU, you will be highly marketable in the workforce. You will be eligible to apply for South Dakota, certified to teach children in public and private programs through the age of eight, and can work in public schools, state early education intervention programs, or even private homes. The quality of training you will have received is well known throughout the region. Many BHSU graduates work for nationally recognized early childhood developmental centers or continue their education at the graduate level.

BHSU has a graduate program available in Curriculum and Instruction with specialties in reading, math, science, or technology. Continuing your education at the graduate level can help you further your career in the classroom. The faculty provides guidance and advice for students wishing to pursue graduate work at either the master’s or doctorate level.
