BHSU and Spearfish library collaboration honored by IRS

The Grace Balloch Memorial Library was recently honored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for its ten years of dedication as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. For the past decade, the library has been collaborating with Black Hills State University to provide tax assistance to primarily low income and elderly individuals.





BHSU graduate students sponsor talk on the health of honey bees
Monday, April 21, 2014 Black Hills State University students in the Integrative Genomics graduate program will sponsor a presentation by Holly Holt, doctorate candidate from Pennsylvania State University titled “Buzzkills and the genomics of honey bee health” Friday, April 25 at 4 p.m. in Jonas Hall 305. 



BHSU will host meeting on proposed rare earths mine

Black Hills State University's School of Natural Science is collaborating with the Prairie Hills Audubon Society and the Clean Water Alliance to conduct a meeting on the proposed rare earths mine in the Bearlodge district of the Black Hills National Forest.  This public informational meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23 at 6:15 p.m. in Jonas Hall 204.  





Brody Brisk awarded the 2014 BHSU Spirit of BH award
Friday, April 18, 2014 During his years at Black Hills State University, Brody Brisk has not only proven to be an integral part of the University, but also an invaluable member of the surrounding community. The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University presents the fifth annual Celebrating Women in Business Luncheon at the Spearfish Holiday Inn and Convention Center Friday, May 16. The signature event celebrates all working women, whether they are current entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, or working members of the business community.
