To prepare for dentistry school, students should earn a bachelor’s degree. Most pre-dentistry students earn a biology, chemistry, exercise science or mathematics degree.
The rigorous courses at BHSU successfully prepare students for the required dental admissions test. All dental schools require applicants to take the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), submit recommendations, and complete interviews. Students at BHSU have the opportunity for mentoring and advisement from faculty. Our graduates have noted that their research experience and other extracurricular activities give them a competitive edge to apply and succeed at graduate and professional school. BHSU faculty members have close connections with the medical community which creates opportunities for students to shadow working dental professionals (many who are BHSU graduates).
