Test Taking
BHSU students seeking bachelor or associates degrees must pass the Rising Junior Exam (CAAP test). The math department recommends students review related mathematical topics before taking the test. This page describes the help available.
We have developed a D2L page which provides information regarding the test as well as practice questions. To log on to the D2L page , use your normal BHSU Login ID and Password. Students who complete the majority of the practice quizzes will do well on the test.
Before taking the test, we recommend reading the Test Day advice located on the D2L page . When taking the test relax and do your best.
Use a calculator on the test. You may use a Ti-82, 83 or similar model, but NOT a TI-89. If you are concerned about your calculator, please check the CAAP official calculator statement.
Visit with any math professor if you have further questions.
Online Materials
In reviewing for the test, it is best that you review material related to the last math class you completed. For example, if your last class was college algebra, you should review the college algebra material (ignoring the trigonometry material). There will be four trigonometry questions and you should attempt these when taking the test. On the other hand, if you have had trigonometry, you should also review these skills.
Become familiar with the test by using the online materials provided by the authors on these sites:

Students will improve their scores on the test by refreshing their skills. For additional practice and instruction, please visit the following web sites:
The math department has also put together a review on D2L.
The math department has put together tutorial material on D2L. An account has been established for you on D2L and the information may be found in the course titled CAAP Math Review. This material will be most useful if you dedicate a couple hours per week from now until your testing date. You can access D2L by directing your browser to: http://d2l.sdbor.edu/. If you have never used D2L before, you might watch the online video at http://iis.bhsu.edu/ITS/studenthelp.html. If you do not know your login information for D2L, you may obtain it at the website above by clicking on the red "here". If you have technical problems with D2L, please email Terry.Hupp@bhsu.edu or Curtis.Card@bhsu.edu and we will try to resolve problems.
