Don Looney was raised in Miami Springs Florida, but has been to all 50 states and over 40 different countries. He is an Assistant Professor of Management at Black Hills State University in the School of Business. He also serves as the MBA Program Director for the MBA Program. He teaches the undergraduate capstone course, BADM 482, Business Policy and Strategy, BADM 407, International Business and a graduate course, MGMT 750, Strategic Planning.

Having graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, he served a five year tour as an Assistant Administrator of a 350 bed teaching hospital in Washington D.C. He then entered private industry and had over twenty eight years of upper level management experience in the international medical device industry. In his business career he has served as a Product Manager, Director of Marketing, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, General Manager of a worldwide product division, and held concurrent positions of President of North America for a $3.5 billion Danish company and Chairman of the Board for an acquired subsidiary company. He has also lived and managed abroad in Denmark. Having retired from industry in 2004, he started a successful management consulting firm to the medical device industry and also joined the BHSU faculty in 2006.

He is married to Dr. Barbara (Bobbi) Looney and they have two adult children and one grandchild.

INSEAD, Executive Management Program. Post graduate work on campuses in Fontainebleau, France and Shanghai China.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY, M.B.A. with honors in Healthcare Management, Boston, MA.

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, B.S. in Engineering Management with academic honors, Colorado Springs, CO.
