Where do I find my WebAdvisor ID and Password?
Your WebAdvisor ID can be found through WebAdvisor on the BHSU Home Page. Go to "WebAdvisor for Students" and then “What’s my User ID” and follow the prompts given. Your WebAdvisor password can be found in the same manner by going to “What’s my Password” and then clicking on "Reset my Password." This will send a temporary password to your current email address.
What if I am setting up a new password and there is an incorrect email address listed for me or not one at all?
Contact the Admissions Office at 605.642.6343 and they will enter the appropriate email address for you so you can continue processing a new password.
What is the syn number?
This is a unique 5-digit number that has been assigned to all courses sections. You can use this number for Express Registration in WebAdvisor.
Is it mandatory for students to meet with their advisor?
We strongly urge all students to meet with advisors. Students on academic review or receiving advisement from the Retention Center are required to meet with advisors and will not be able to use WebAdvisor.
What about adding and dropping courses?
Students wishing to drop/add should use WebAdvisor registration. If faculty signatures are required for an override, such as a class closure, assistance will be available in the Registrar's Office, Woodburn 104. Signatures are not required for dropping a class.
What about holds?
All holds must be taken care of prior to registration. Students with holds will not be permitted to register.

Can students register for independent studies and internships on WebAdvisor?
Because of the nature of these courses, students are not permitted to register for them with WebAdvisor. Registration for these courses will take place in the Registrar's Office, Woodburn 104. These courses require both the faculty and college deans permission.
How is the date and time determined for registration priorities?
These priorities are based on your completed credits as of the end of the previous semester and assigned to result in staggered start times to prevent overload within the Regental system.
Where can students get a printout of their classes?
This can be printed through WebAdvisor by clicking on “My Class Schedule” in "WebAdvisor for Students."
All entering students must provide valid ACT scores (within the last five years) or must take the COMPASS examination in the areas of writing skills, mathematics, and reading to show evidence of their level of academic preparation prior to their enrollment into their initial mathematics, English, and reading courses. Pre-general education courses include ENGL 031, ENGL 033, MATH 021, MATH 101, and READ 041. Placement through ACT: standardized test scores determine placement in English Composition courses. For students with valid ACT scores, the scale used for placement is:
Students whose ACT score is greater than 24 MUST take the COMPASS for placement into the appropriate MATH course, or get permission to enroll in a lower level (MATH 102) math class.
Placement through COMPASS: All students who do not have ACT scores or who have ACT scores older than five years must take the COMPASS Writing Placement Exam. Students should be directed to the Center for Academic Success to take this exam. The scale used to determine placement with this exam is listed below:

What classes will fulfill General Education Requirements?
General Education Options
Incoming freshmen must complete 30 credit hours of System General Education Requirements in their first 64 credit hours. The following 18 credit hours (21 recommended) of the System General Education Requirements must be completed in the first 48 hours
