The Doctor of Optometry degree requires a four-year program at an accredited optometry school.Students are encouraged to earn a bachelor’s degree before applying to optometry professional school. Optometry school requires that you have successfully completed courses in English, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology prior to admissions. Once you have completed your schooling, all applicants are required to take the Optometry Admissions Test (OAT) to measure your academic ability and scientific comprehension.
