Join us for the 2012 Manufacturing Academy
Black Hills State University is one of several sponsors who will partner with the Regional Technical Education Center (RTEC) to present the annual two-week Manufacturing Academy in Yankton, June 4-8 and 11-15
Why should I attend this camp?
Three awesome reasons
- Experience the fun.
You’ll spend your first week of the camp exploring careers, doing classroom and lab activities, and touring several local manufacturing facilities. The second week will be at RTEC completing hands-on internship experiences. And not to mention the great benefits of reasons #2 and #3.
- Advance your skills.
Attending the camp will allow you to pump up your welding and machining skills and introduce you to future career opportunities in the manufacturing field.
- Earn college credit.
Bonus! By just attending the camp, you’ll earn one college credit from Black Hills State University… for free! You can then use this college credit towards a future BHSU degree in Industrial Technology.

Advanced Manufacturing offered in Yankton
Black Hills State University provides instruction in Yankton in Advanced Manufacturing, offering an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree program. This program is different than the A.A.S. degree program that is offered by the technical schools in that credits are transferable to the university system.
Manufacturing is not dark, dangerous or disgusting. Today's manufactures operate in a clean, bright, and automated environment. Manufacturing firms are looking for well educated employees who can operate high tech robotic equipment.
