Black Hills State offers the only Technology Education program in the state of South Dakota.

The Industrial Technology Education program at BHSU will prepare students for a career in teaching technology. With more and more advances in the technology field, the demand for Technology Education teachers is on the rise. Technology Education students will receive the same instruction as the other Industrial Technology majors, but they will also be taking courses in education to prepare them for the teaching world.

A minor is NOT required with this major but electives are required to total 128 hours. Students are encouraged to pursue a minor, but to be certified to teach, a content praxis exam must be passed in both major & minor areas of study.
