Get an energy management technology certificate (EMTC)
BHSU currently offers an Energy Management Technology Certificate (EMTC) which is used to help identify energy waste within an industrial, commercial, or institutional facilities. Then this information is combined with the latest in building automation control technology to reduce energy costs, for the purpose of continuous, incremental improvement in energy efficiency. This improvement reduces energy costs and increases profits, making companies more competitive in the global market, more likely to invest in research, development, and capital projects, and better positioned to gain market share. This program addresses the ongoing need to train workers in energy reduction technology and thereby increase the profitability of South Dakota business.
An EMTC will serve incumbent workers in: (1) South Dakota’s manufacturing community, improving profitability and increasing market share, (2) public agencies such as school districts, local governments, and higher educational agencies, and (3) commercial organizations of every type, improving efficiency.
Course Requirements for the Energy Management Technology Certificate:
- 3 TECH 120 Smart Buildings
- 3 TECH 220 Smart Building Design
- 3 TECH 341 Lean Concepts
