Discover Theatre at BHSU

Interested in becoming part of the Theatre program at BHSU?

Black Hills State University Theatre Program provides an environment where students may develop their intellectual and artistic skills. At BHSU, a full range of courses in the history and theory of drama is complemented by courses in theatrical production techniques. A laboratory for class work is provided by the theatre production program where faculty and students cooperate to create unified works of art. The theatre program offers a solid foundation from which students are prepared to pursue an area of theatre specialization through attending graduate school or by entering the job market. Through its productions the theatre program strives to provide quality and diversified entertainment for the University and the Black Hills region

There are multiple productions staged during the year that are open to the public. Check out the current season or our past performances!

Two student organizations provide support to the theatre program:

  • The Theatre Society is open to all BHSU students.
  • Props and Liners, the oldest student organization at BHSU, is a Theatre Honorary Fraternity.
