The BHSU Jazz Ensemble is a small, auditioned ensemble specializing in a wide variety of jazz styles. Voiced as a classic "Big Band", the Jazz Ensemble plays arrangements by such legends as Charlie Mingus and Thelonius Monk, as well as selections from more contemporary composers. The Jazz Ensemble takes a spring tour every year, and has made appearances at jazz festivals nationwide. The Jazz Ensemble provides a venue for students of all majors as well as community members to develop their jazz performance and solo improvisation skills.
